World Green Consumers Day was celebrated with fervour at Bharathiyar College Engineering and Technology on the 26th of September. A Cycle Rally was organised to create awareness among the public to emphasise the importance of being a green consumer.
Hundreds of student volunteers both boys and girls participated in the rally. District Collector Shri.R.Kesavan, Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri. Rahul Alwal, Superintendent of Police, Shri.Vamseedh Reddy and a team of police personnel also took part in the rally. The rally was flagged off by Prof. Michael N Kumar, Director, BCET from Collector’s office in the presence of Prof. N.Oumabady, Principal, Heads of various Departments and faculty members of BCET.
The Rally went across the entire stretch of Bharathiar Road and reached the College premises. Students participated with great enthusiasm raising slogans like Protect nature, Avoid Plastics, Use only eco-friendly products. The presence of eminent dignitaries of Karaikal region added colours to the event and was very much appreciated by the public.
The entire rally was organised successfully by the Management, staff members and students of BCET.
